Triple Gradient or Triple Layered means its outer layer captures >10 microns, the middle layer > 5 microns, and the inner layer (core) >1 micron.

This prevents filters blocking prematurely and provides a higher contaminant holding capacity.,Instead of dirt building up on the outside, like regular sediment filters, dirt is trapped throughout the whole filter
